CNN’s portal for citizen journalists - iReport - turns five-years-old in August. To celebrate they are having parties in cities around the world. To connect citizen journalists for the celebration they are using the MeetUp platform.
Since many citizen journalists function alone this is an opportunity for them to join with each other and discover what others are doing and how they do it. Party attenders will be given a “special birthday assignment” at the meetups as well as party favors to “help get the parties started.”

He won top prize in the blogging competition on The-Latest.
