US Golf wizard Tiger Woods has romped home to win the 2006 Open Championship in Hoylake, Liverpool, writes Chris Gaynor.
The tournament favourite produced a staggering round of 66 to finish 18 under for the championship.
Two shots behind him was Chris Di Marco as Tiger had displayed what supporters described as 'clinical golf' all week.
As Tiger secured the final putt of the Open, he broke down in tears and raised his hands in relief.
The golf Ace had recently lost his father an avid supporter and spectator on the circuit.
Runner up Di Marco attempted to thwart Tiger's precision putting, and at one stage was one behind him.
But Tiger managed to hold his nerve to lift the trophy for a second time as defending champion.
Ernie Els finished third in the running.
It is his third open title in a long spanning career as a professional.
